A baby shower was held Nov. 20 in the Borden Seniors' Room to welcome Gage Scott Charles, born to Amanda Williams and Dalyn Matechuk of Borden, Oct. 13. After the 20-plus ladies introduced themselves to Dalyn and Amanda, Dalyn left and Jean Brooke led contests.

A community cash gift was presented to Amanda by Lorraine Olinyk, then Jean Brooke and Eleanor Walton passed over the gifts to be opened and passed around. Amanda thanked everyone for coming, for all the gifts and to all those who helped out with the shower. Lunch supplied by the hostesses was enjoyed by all.

District planning commission meetings are being held in the area over the next month or so, with Prairie Wild Consulting firm facilitating the meetings. The first one was in Hafford Nov. 23. Meetings will be held in Borden at the community centre Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. and in Radisson at the town hall Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. The meetings are for administrators and councils of villages, towns and RMs, and anyone else interested in planning for the future is welcome.

The Radisson Agricultural Society held their annual meeting Nov. 16 with 20 in attendance to hear reports. Some of the items discussed were the moving of the tractor pull track for 2012 and possible removal of some items such as canning, jams and pickles from the prize list as there are not many entries in these classes.

Total revenue for the year was $20,131.90 (which included some funds from 2010 coming in after the Oct. 31 year-end) and expenditures were $15, 820.97, leaving a surplus of $4,310.93. Some of the surplus resulted from the horse show and vintage tractor pull being cancelled this year due to rain and thus not being paid out.

Executive of the Ag Society are: president, Derek Murphy; vice president, Darlene Voegeli; secretary, Chris Donaldson; and treasurer, Darren Beaudoin. Anyone who hasn't paid their 2011 sponsorship, please see Darren at the town office. If you wish to be taken off the sponsorship list, contact Chris Donaldson at Radisson or, if from Borden, call Lorraine Olinyk.

A surprise 70th birthday party was held Nov. 19 in the Lutheran Church basement for Harry Lerch of Radisson, with over 50 relatives and friends on hand to sing Happy Birthday and enjoy cake and lunch.
