HUMBOLDT — The provincial government is reporting another large increase in active COVID-19 cases in the Central East 1 subzone, which includes Humboldt.
As of Sept. 15, there are 66 active cases. The previous record was 53, set on Sept. 12.
There are 17 new cases as of Sept. 15, beating the previous record of 14 set on Feb. 27.
Central East 1 contains Humboldt, Bruno, Watson, Watrous and Strasbourg. The province estimates there are 25,225 living in the subzone.
In the wider Central East zone, which also includes Yorkton and Melville, there are four in the inpatient wing of hospitals and three in intensive care units.
There are 405 confirmed cases of alpha, 107 cases of delta and five cases of gamma.
Province-wide, there are 475 new cases on Sept. 15. Of those, 377 are unvaccinated, 26 had one dose (or had their second dose less than 14 days ago), and 72 had both doses.
104 of the new cases are affecting people between the ages of 0 and 11.
