Eight stabbing victims remain in hospital

The SHA says it will not be providing updates over the weekend.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Health Authority says eight people injured in the James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon mass casualty incident remain in hospital.

As of 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, the SHA confirms there are eight patients who remain in hospital, all of whom are in stable condition. Since Sunday, nine patients have been discharged.

For privacy reasons, the SHA will not be disclosing further information, including the location of the hospitals where these patients are receiving care.

The SHA says it will not be providing updates over the weekend.

The SHA also reminds all Saskatchewan residents that they can call HealthLine 811 for assistance accessing mental health supports or visit www.saskhealthauthority.ca for resources that may be able to assist.
