Paradise Hill arena has been granted $14,485 in federal funding for upgrades to the community's arena through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund.

The funding will help the community install posts and tempered safety glass on the boards surrounding the ice surface. The upgrade will ensure the facility stays open, and is safer for Paradise Hill and area residents.

"Our arena is the hub of our community from October through March," said Isabelle Jasper, mayor of Paradise Hill. "It is essential in maintaining a quality of life that attracts young people to our community. Programs such as the CIIF provide a significant contribution towards ensuring the successful operation of our recreational facilities in this province."

CIIF supports, on a cost-shared basis, repairs and improvements to existing community infrastructure accessible to the public. Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) is delivering the Fund in Western Canada with an allocation of $46.2 million over two years.
