Golf club, hammers used in Saskatoon assaults

Police responded to a series of assaults in Saskatoon.

SASKATOON - Multiple victims are recovering following a string of separate assaults involving blunt objects in Saskatoon Tuesday night.

Arriving officers located the injured man and noticed a laceration to his chin. He was transported to hospital.  

Just after 6 p.m. on the same day, police received a report of a man who was struck with a hammer outside of a residence in the 700 block of Appleby Drive.

Officers arrived on scene and attended to the man. He was later transported to hospital with serious injuries. The victim and suspect are believed to be known to each other.

Later that night, police received a report of an injured man outside of a business in the 2400 block of 22nd Street West. It is believed the man was assaulted by four unknown individuals while being struck by a hammer.  

The man was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police continue to investigate.
