The building permits report for August 2012 in North Battleford is in line with what it was in August 2011 in North Battleford.
Ten permits were issued for a permit value of $5,992,000, compared to 16 issued for $5,678,000 for the same period last year.
Among the highlights for August were four permits issued at a value of over a million dollars each. One was a new condo permit issued for $1,271,000 to Lehman Construction and Design Inc.
Another was a new institutional permit issued to Battlefords Boys and Girls Club for $1,225,000 for their new building.
Two others were commercial alterations. One was issued to Living Sky School Division for their building at 509 Pioneer Avenue, valued at $1,181,000. The fourth was to Mardi Holding Ltd. for $1,900,000.
Along with a third commercial alteration issued for $70,000, together the three commercial alterations permits are valued at $3,151,000.
There was also $280,000 in new industrial permits, three garage/carport permits for $50,000 and one sign permit for $15,000.
New dwelling permits, however, saw a big drop in August, down from four for $936,000 in 2011 to zero in August 2012. For the year, 11 new dwelling permits were issued for $2,901,000 compared to 18 for $4,395,000, one new apartment complex permit was issued for $900,000 and three new condo units permits were issued for $4,383,000.
Overall, 93 permits have been issued in 2012 for a total permit value of $26,609,900.
