LLOYDMINSTER – A high-risk offender who had 28 outstanding warrants in two provinces was arrested in Lloydminster, Sask.
RCMP say that at approximately 5 p.m. on Sept. 29, Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section members observed Mitchell Moyah, a high-risk offender wanted on outstanding warrants from several jurisdictions driving in Lloydminster.
Police followed the vehicle to a home near 15 Street and 48 Avenue but Moyah fled on foot through several backyards to avoid arrest. Lloydminster RCMP received numerous 911 calls from the public about the location of Moyah. With the assistance of the Lloydminster RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services, police were able to arrest him.
Moyah, from Edmonton, was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of weapons contrary to a court order, and failing to comply with release conditions.
Police say that Moyah was wanted by Edmonton Police and Lloydminster RCMP.
Moyah was remanded into custody to appear in Lloydminster, Sask. Circuit Court on Oct. 11.
