HUMBOLDT – At the May 26 city council meeting, Humboldt proclaimed the week of June 10 to 16 as Pride Week.

In the proclamation, it states that the City of Humboldt is a diverse, accepting, and safe community for residents and visitors alike. A Pride flag raising will be held at City Hall on Monday, June 10 at noon. Later on in the evening at 7 p.m., grab your paint rollers and help colour the streets in a show of pride and creativity at 502 Main Street.

The Humboldt and Area Pride Network in partnership with Prairie Central District for Sport, Culture and Recreation organized "Planting Pride: Allyship 101," on Tuesday, June 11 at 7 p.m. Participants will plant a garden of colourful flowers, symbolizing Humboldt's community’s growth and diversity. Pride is a global movement that stands for equality and celebration of diversity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer, questioning, two-spirited and their allies. Pride is a way to honour and respect all people regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, to recognize our differences and uniqueness and to promote and build community through education and understanding.
