Martin show cause set for next week

One individual accused of a number of break and enters in the Northwest region targeting ATM machines made a video appearance in court this week.

Garvin Martin, 44, appeared Wednesday by video link from custody in Saskatoon. His appearance was brief and counsel have adjourned his matter to Sept. 14 while a bail supervision report is being prepared.

Martin faces 21 charges which include break, enter and theft both over and under $5,000, possession of stolen property and break in instruments, unlawful possession of a firearm and unsafe storage of a firearm. All are in connection to break and enter incidents in Leoville and Mervin where businesses and ATM machines were targeted.

Also charged in connection to the incidents are Gabriel Poundmaker of North Battleford, who is due back in court Sept 16 facing multiple break and enter and theft related charges; a 15-year-old youth, who is also due back in court Sept 16 facing multiple charges, and Bonnie Mooney of North Battleford, who is due to return to court Sept. 13.
