Light of Christ Catholic Schools board members Glen Gantefoer, Adrienne Welter and Keith Koberinski attended an unveiling and blessing of a monument dedicated to the Catholic Sisters of Saskatchewan Oct. 1. 

The Saskatchewan Catholic Connections Committee commissioned the creation of the monument to acknowledge the work the sisters have done in Saskatchewan in the areas of education, health care and social services.

The unveiling, a mass and a banquet were hosted in celebration. The Apostolic Nuncio to Canada, Most Rev. Luigi Bonazzi, representatives of the Catholic Bishops of Saskatchewan, representatives of the Government of Saskatchewan and many other dignitaries, donors and guests were present to honour the legacy of 5,500 Catholic sisters who contributed to the growth and development of the province.

The monument, titled Called to Serve, stands in Wascana Park in Regina.
