Including 90 home-schooled students, a total of 5,675 students were enrolled in the Living Sky School Division by Sept. 30, according to the enrolment report presented at a recent meeting of the school board.

The largest enrolment is at North Battleford Comprehensive High School, where 794 students had enrolled by the end of September, up from 709 who attended opening day. But numbers are down somewhat from 2010, when 819 had enrolled by the end of September of that year. Still, this year's enrolment is 33 more than the projected numbers for North Battleford Comprehensive High School. Grade 12 is the largest class with 211 of the division's 504 Grade 12 students.

The next largest enrolment is at Battleford Central School, a pre-kindergarten through Grade 8 school, where there were 510 students as of Sept. 30, three more than the year before, and eight more than projected. Grade 4 has the largest enrolment, with 63 students.

Macklin School is next in line on the enrolment tally, with 417 students. Macklin is a Grade 1 to Grade 12 school.

Back to the Battlefords, Bready School has 270 students from kindergarten to Grade 8, eight more than projected, and up from 239 students last year.

McKitrick, a pre-kindergarten to Grade 8 school, is next with 255, two more than projected and up from last year's 229, followed by Connaught, also pre-kindergarten to Grade 8, with 341 students. Connaught was projected to have eight more students than the Sept. 30 enrolment of 243, however this school's population tends to vary throughout the year. Last year it had 223 students.

Lawrence School is ninth on the list of 31 schools, with 224 students from pre-kindergarten to Grade 8. The projection was for 263.

St. Vital School is 13th with 177 students from pre-kindergarten to Grade 8, four less than projected.
