Police ask for public's help following serious assault

SASKATOON - The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating following an assault early Monday morning in Saskatoon.

On Oct. 28 at approximately 3:10 a.m., police were called to the 2800 block of 7th Street East for a report of an injured person. Initial call information stated two females were in a physical altercation.

Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old female youth inside a home in the care of paramedics; however, she left the scene shortly after. A short time later, officers located an 18-year-old woman outside the residence suffering from what were believed to be serious injuries; she was transported to hospital by paramedics.

Upon further investigation, officers learned there was a physical altercation between the two females who are believed to be known to one another. It is also believed a baseball bat may have been used in the assault.

The Serious Assault Unit is continuing to investigate.
