Warman RCMP responded to a three-car crash near Maymont July 26.

As a result of investigation into a three-vehicle crash near Maymont, 21-year-old Rory Favel of North Battleford has been charged.

Favel is to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Wednesday, Sept. 1, on charges of:

  • Operate a conveyance while ability to operate is impaired;
  • Operate a conveyance having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding eighty milligrams of alcohol;
  • Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
  • Prohibited driving
  • Breach of Probation

On July 26, at approximately 2 p.m., Warman RCMP responded to the report of a red car, on Highway 16, three kilometres east of Maymont, driving in the wrong direction through a construction zone at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic and almost hitting highway workers.

Preliminary results of the investigation indicated the red car struck a second red car and sideswiped a third black car before it entered the ditch and rolled. The second red car rolled into the ditch and was severely damaged.

RCMP say Favel was transported to hospital, however no life-threatening injuries were reported to anyone involved in the collision.

Borden Fire Department conducted traffic control and a Saskatchewan RCMP traffic analyst attended.

The highway remained open throughout the investigation.
