A fascinating note from one of our newsletter readers, Kaz:
"I live in New Mexico, but long ago I fell in love with Saskatchewan's northern wild lakes and boreal forests and have been travelling there for the past 20 years. Last summer I visited Big River, where I have a few good friends, and I also spent a few days in Waskesiu Park. (A real wilderness gem.) Next year I plan to go farther north...
There’s much more about my love of Saskatchewan’s wild lakes and forests. But I will just mention two titles in my big collection of books about Saskatchewan: North to Cree Lake and Face the North Wind, both by Karras. It’s magic. I have read them several times and even bought a copy for my friend in Big River.
Frankly, for me northern Saskatchewan is like a new, green planet. Last year I even bought a new Subaru just to be able to drive to my ecotopia any time I can."
