Trial set for N. B. man on weapons charges

In April, the Battlefords RCMP gang unit raided a home, seized firearms, and arrested two men.

NORTH BATTLEFORD – A 24-year-old man arrested by the Battlefords RCMP gang unit after they raided a home and seized firearms in April is headed to trial.

Keagan Jackson’s trial is scheduled for May 8 – 9, 2023, on two counts of possession of a firearm when unauthorized, possession of a firearm contrary to an order, careless use of a firearm, and unsafe storage of a firearm.

A trial for his co-accused, Landin Gallie, is set for Jan. 10, 2023. He is charged with three counts of possession of a firearm when unauthorized, three counts of possession of a firearms contrary to an order, three counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, and driving while prohibited.

The charges against the accused haven’t been tested in court.
