The Humboldt Collegiate Mohawks are provincial champions after the blue and gold piled up 261 points to capture the 3A Provincial Track and Field team points title by 27 over second place Moose Jaw Peacock.
While the Mohawks were busy collecting a team title, their individual athletes were also busy collecting medals of their own as the blue and gold captured one gold, two silver, and four bronze.
The Mohawks added to their points title thanks to eight total top fives, and 21 total top tens.
The Mohawks’ best discipline came in the midget boys category, where they collected a gold in 100m hurdles, a silver in triple jump, and bronze medals in 400m, 800m, and long jump. Â
The blue and gold also added 6th place finishes in 100m hurdles, and long jump, and ninth place finishes in 1500m, and javelin, to round out the top ten.
Another of the Mohawks’ best age groups was their midget girls team, who claimed one bronze medal, and five other top tens.
The lone provincial medal for the midget girls came in the discus, where they captured bronze.
Among the other top ten finishes, the Mohawks claimed fifth in triple jump, sixth in 3,000m, eight in long jump, ninth in pole vault, and tenth in 1,500m.
The final of the Mohawks medals came in the senior boys tetrathlon competition, where they grabbed silver.
The Mohawks also finished sixth in junior girls tetrathlon.
Rounding out the Mohawks top ten finishers were sixth in senior girls hurdles and junior girls triple jump, seventh in senior girls 400m, and eighth in junior girls hurdles.
With track now complete, the Mohawks put the final touches on their athletics season with the flag football final, and athletics banquet both set for June 5.
