Saskatchewan Roughriders re-sign Jordan and Justin Herdman-Reed

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have doubled their national linebacking depth with one signing. The Riders have re-signed twin brothers Justin and Jordan Herdman Reed to contract extensions.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have doubled their national linebacker depth with one signing. The Riders have re-signed twin Canadian brothers Justin and Jordan Herdman Reed to contract extensions for the 2025 season.

Jordan Herdman-Reed played 13 games in his second stint with the Green and White in 2024 and recorded eight special teams tackles.

Jordan Herdman-Reed was selected in the seventh round, 60th overall by the B.C. Lions in the 2017 CFL Draft and played three seasons with the Lions before moving to Saskatchewan in 2021. He played a pair of seasons with the Riders, suitng up in 17 games and making six special teams tackles. In 2023, he played in 16 games with Calgary, registering 10 tackles.

In his professional career, the 30-year-old linebacker has amassed 96 defensive tackles, 68 special teams tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble over 76 games.

Justin Herdman-Reed returns to the Riders for a fifth season. He initially signed with the team in 2021 and has since made 41 special teams tackles and 10 defensive tackles over 40 games played.

The Winnipeg native was selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the seventh round, 54th overall during the 2017 CFL Draft. During his time with the Argonauts, Herdman-Reed appeared in 30 games, recording 43 defensive tackles, 26 special teams tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles. He later signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2020 before joining the Roughriders.
