The Battlefords were well represented on the slopes Thursday at the Saskatchewan Winter Games as they picked up five medals for the host Rivers West team in the snowboarding event at Table Mountain Regional Park.

North Battleford’s Rio Tucker, Battleford’s Daxton Ma and North Battleford’s Kasen Humenny led the charge with a clean sweep of the podium in the male U14 slopestyle competition.

Donovan Schiele and Tate Schiele of North Battleford picked up a gold and a silver medal in the male U17 slopestyle event, with Saskatoon’s Chullan Medernach preventing a second clean sweep for the locals.

With the five medals they picked up Thursday, Rivers West is in fourth overall in the medal standings with 41 as they’ve picked up 16 golds, 16 silvers and nine bronzes over the last four days.

Saskatoon leads the way with 74 medals with Regina and Prairie Central sitting in second and third spot with 50 and 46 medals each.
