Man charged with assaulting peace officer in Saskatoon incident

SASKATOON - Two people are facing charges after police responded to a disturbance yesterday afternoon in Saskatoon.

At approximately 2 p.m., Jan. 26, patrol officers responded to a report of persons uttering threats inside a business in the 100 block of 21st Street East. Upon arrival, a police officer attempted to arrest a woman when a man physically intervened and attempted to assault the officer. A physical confrontation ensued before other officers arrived to assist in placing both the man and woman in custody.

A 34-year-old man was charged with assaulting a peace officer. He was also arrested on outstanding criminal code warrants. 

A 31-year-old woman was arrested for public intoxication.
