SASKATOON - A man, who is facing a series of sexual assault charges, is scheduled to stand trial at the Court of King's Bench in Saskatoon on Feb. 18.

Cecil Wolfe, 63, was charged with a dozen sexual assault charges. Wolfe is accused of the offences while he was acting as a healer.

The jury trial will run to March 28, with adjournments in between, according to the court office.

Police say Wolfe misrepresented himself as a Cree medicine man to gain access to victims in Saskatchewan at the time of the alleged offences. According to Saskatoon police, they received a report on April 26, 2021, that a woman had been sexually assaulted. Saskatoon Police Service Sex Crimes Unit investigated and charged him with four counts of sexual assault and the RCMP charged him with seven offences in their jurisdictions from Loon Lake and Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.
