Vehicle drives into oncoming traffic trying to evade police

At approximately 12:45 a.m., Feb. 26, police observed a vehicle they suspected to be stolen travelling in the area of 20th Street East and 1st Avenue South.

SASKATOON - A man is facing charges after allegedly fleeing from police earlier this morning.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., Feb. 26, police observed a vehicle they suspected to be stolen travelling in the area of 20th Street East and 1st Avenue South. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and was observed disobeying traffic signals and driving into oncoming traffic.

The driver fled on foot after colliding with a concrete barrier near the intersection of 19th Street East and 4th Avenue South. He was located a short time later by patrol and canine officers. 

A 32-year-old man is charged with dangerous driving, evade police, and hit and run.
