UNITY — Sportsmen, women and children braved the cold temperatures and howling winds to feast at the annual wildlife supper once again hosted by the Unity Wildlife Federation.
Members and directors of the UWF worked together, preparing and cooking food the day before and the day of the annual event. With a vast selection of wild game meats and fish to taste, nobody walked away with an empty belly. One director said this was one of the best years they have had for people helping put the food out.
Once everyone had filled a plate, master of ceremony Ken Neil introduced Jessa Heatherington, the coach for Team Canada in the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP). Heatherington, who once held national records, talked about the program and how great it is to have a partnership with local wildlife federations in bringing NASP to schools. Sebastian Lauinger, along with Heatherington, will travel to South Africa again in July to compete in the 2025 Africa Genesis Archery World Tournament.
