It is with profound sadness that we announce that Leonard Richard Stang passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, after a brief illness.
Leonard was born on October 7, 1944, in Macklin, Saskatchewan. He was a loving husband to Jeanette with whom he celebrated his 57th Wedding Anniversary this April. After attaining his Journeyman Carpenter Certificate from SAIT, Leonard started a construction business in Macklin - Stang’s Construction. He built numerous homes in Macklin and surrounding areas in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Leonard was very proud of his projects, often taking the kids on Sunday afternoon drives pointing out his workmanship. He enthusiastically helped his kids with their family homes, leaving a legacy for all his children and grandchildren.
Leonard was a beloved husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His warm and welcoming nature led to our home being a gathering place for friends of the family. Leonard loved to joke, tease, and even impersonate which always led to a good laugh. He enjoyed his Blue Jays, Riders and watching curling with Jeanette. His grandchildren looked forward to his visits and Leonard loved cheering them on in their sporting activities.
Leonard and Jeanette recently moved into St. Volodymyr in Saskatoon where they were warmly welcomed. Leonard quickly became a beloved member of the resident community where he enjoyed building puzzles, bowling, socializing and spending time in the chapel embracing his faith.
Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Reinhold and Mary; sisters, Angela, Margaret, Elvira and Wendy; and brother, Alex who he will gladly be playing ball with in heaven. Leonard was also predeceased by many extended family members and friends too numerous to mention.
