Two charged following slew of robberies in Regina

REGINA - Two people are facing charges following a series of robberies at businesses in the city.

The first robbery occurred on Jan. 26 at a business in the 2900 block of Gordon Road in Regina.

Police were called to the location at approximately 9:30 p.m. When they arrived, they spoke with employees and learned that a lone male suspect entered the store, took several items off the shelf and proceeded to leave the store.

Security tried to stop the suspect, but the suspect threatened them with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Three days later, on Jan. 29, police received another report of a robbery at the same business, this time, a location in the 1000 block of Pasqua Street North.

Officers were dispatched to the scene shortly before 7:30 p.m. Employees told police a lone male suspect entered the business, took several items off the shelf and started to leave.

When employees confronted him, the suspect threatened them with a knife and fled.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. on Feb. 24, police were called to the same location in the 1000 block of Pasqua Street North for another report of a robbery.

Officers arrived on scene and learned that a lone male suspect entered the store, took various items off the shelf and proceeded to leave. When confronted by a store employee, the suspect threatened them with a baton.

The suspect then fled the scene. Through investigation by members of the Patrol Unit and the Robbery Unit, two male suspects were arrested and charged.

A 21-year-old man, from Regina, is charged with: 3 x robbery; 2 x disguise with intent; and breach of conditions.

A 41-year-old man is charged in relation to the Jan. 29 robbery. He is charged with: robbery.

Both accused made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court.
