Police and MADD conduct high-visibility check stops

Members of the Estevan Police Service (EPS), the local Combined Traffic Services of Saskatchewan unit โ€“ which includes the EPS and the Estevan RCMP โ€“ and representatives of the Estevan chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, participated in several high-visibility check stops throughout the city on Friday night.

Approximately 650 vehicles were checked.ย 

A Novice 1 driver was given a 60-day driverโ€™s licence suspension after failing a roadside screening device test. The vehicle was also impounded for three days.

Police also issued two tickets under the Cannabis Act and three tickets under the Traffic Safety Act.

Members attended to a residence in northeast Estevan for a noise complaint.ย  The homeowner was warned about the noise and also about the public health order regarding indoor gatherings.
