WEYBURN – The Southeast Sport, Culture and Recreation District elected a new board at their annual meeting, held on May 31 at Weyburn’s Credit Union Spark Centre.
The district elected four new members to the board of directors, including Tina Clay of Weyburn, Stefan Clark of Stoughton, Skylar Antoniuk of Alameda and Ryan Reiss of Vibank.
These new members joined the board that includes Tami Scott of Oxbow, Morgan Kelly of Weyburn, Ryan Dale of Weyburn, Sheldon Watson of Ochapowace First Nation, Rhonda Lamb of Kronau and Amber Andersen of Estevan.
The AGM went over the accomplishments of the past year and held the board elections for 2022. The board provides leadership for carrying out the district’s mission of helping communities provide diverse sport, culture and recreation opportunities through training, leadership and awareness initiatives.
Clay recently became the program manager with the City of Weyburn, after being the aquatics manager for the City since 2008. She has held various volunteer positions, such as U10 division head for Weyburn Minor Soccer, manager of numerous Weyburn Minor Hockey teams, and serving as a board member and secretary of the Weyburn Oilwomen Association.
Clark was born and raised in Stoughton, and lives there with his wife and two sons. He is the lead project geologist for Apollo Silver Corporation. He is in his second term on Stoughton’s town council, and spends many hours volunteering for local organizations and boards, including serving as president of the Stoughton Skating Rink Board, and as a member of the Stoughton Rec Board since 2016.
Antoniuk is from Alameda, is a mom to two little boys, and has been heavily involved in the volunteer sector for the last 10 years. She is currently chairperson for the local library branch, and will receive her certificate in administration Level 2 in June. She has taken in many of the webinars and events put on by the Southeast District.
Reiss was born and raised in Vibank, and has been active in his community as councillor and mayor for over 10 years, and has served several terms on the local recreation board. He works as a team leader at Conexus Credit Union, and just finished a term on the Saskatchewan Young Leaders, a leadership committee for the provincial Credit Union system.
