Environment Canada has lifted the tornado warning that was in effect for the Estevan area.
The warning was issued at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday afternoon for the Rural Municipalities of Estevan, Benson and Cambria. It was lifted at 6:02 p.m.
It stated that Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a thunderstorm that was producing a tornado.
The tornado was spotted near Hitchcock. Several funnel clouds and tornadoes were posted to social media.
Estevan was doused with heavy and sustained rains due to the storm.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued Tuesday afternoon, but it was lifted when the tornado warning was issued. A severe thunderstorm watch, issued in the early afternoon, is still in effect.
