Wawota Skating Club held its sixth annual carnival this past Friday. The theme was "Music Through the Decades." Skaters danced to music ranging from The Beatles to The Spice Girls. Guest skaters also performed including Rory Greenbank and the Southeast FireCracker - Synchronized Skating Team from Kennedy.
The Skaters showed off what they had learned this season with impressive performances from the CanSkaters (whose numbers grew to 35 this year) and the 9 StarSkaters (8 of which attended competitions in Virden, MB and Yorkton).
This year the club debuted Team Sparkle, a beginner Synchronized Skating Team, with 11 skaters from the club, they are hoping to expand that to two teams in the near future.
The season has ended on a high note, and the team is looking to the future.
