Two candidates to battle for final seat on Carlyle town council

CARLYLE - There will be an election in Carlyle on Nov. 13 to round out Carlyle town council for the next four years. 

Mary Moffat and Tracy Van Dresar filed nomination papers prior to the Oct. 23 deadline during the second call for nominations. The person who receives more votes in the election will occupy the final seat on town council.

An advanced poll will happen on Nov. 6 from 1-4 p.m. at the Carlyle Memorial Hall. Voting on election day on Nov. 13 will run from 9 a.m.-8 p.m., also at the Carlyle Memorial Hall. 

The initial call for nominations ended on Oct. 9. Jen Sedor filed her forms for a second term as Carlyle's mayor, and was acclaimed to the position. 

Five people - John Brownlee, Hugh Hislop, Lauren Hume, Kelly Lutz and Gord Paulley - filed for councillor before the initial deadline and were also acclaimed.
