WEYBURN - Members of the South East Cornerstone Public School Division's board covered a number of topics during their meeting on Jan. 15.
During the traditional roundtable discussion period that marks the early part of the public portion of the meeting, trustee Velda Weatherald (Subdivision 2 - Arcola, Carlyle, Manor, Maryfield and Wawota) informed the other board members of her visit with Carlyle town council members regarding participation in the planning for a new school in that community.
Director of education Keith Keating spoke of an administration council session he attended with Cornerstone human resources manager Nathan Johnson, and he noted that long-serving chairwoman Audrey Trombley had been singled out for the Award of Distinction at the December 2 conference held by the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA). That earned a round of applause by the trustees circled around the conference room tables.
(SaskToday will have more on this story).
