ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service doled out two more tickets to motorists travelling well above the speed limit.

According to the July 11 EPS press release, a member made two separate traffic stops in which the offending drivers were travelling over 90 kilometres per hour in a 50 km/h zone. Both were charged under the Traffic Safety Act, and each driver could be fined at least $570.

Earlier this week, the EPS reported that a motorist was fined $680 on July 8 after being pulled over on the truck bypass for driving 147 km/h in a 100 zone. Then on July 9, an EPS member with Combined Traffic Services of Saskatchewan pulled over a driver travelling 152 km/h in a 100 zone south of Stoughton, resulting in an $820 fine.

Also on July 11, police were called to a report of a male entering a vacant home in the downtown area. Police located and arrested a 61-year-old man from Estevan. He is charged for being unlawfully in a dwelling and possessing illegal tobacco. He was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
