ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service dealt with conditional sentence order breach, disturbance and other calls on Dec. 25-26.
On Dec. 26, a 38-year-old woman was arrested for breaching her conditional sentence order by not complying with curfew conditions. She was arrested and lodged in EPS cells to appear in court.
In a separate incident, EPS members attended to St. Joseph’s Hospital to assist with an unruly patient that was disturbing staff and patients with their behaviour.
Police also received a complaint of animal abuse taking place at a local residence. Members attended, spoke with the residents and checked on the condition of the animal. No indication of abuse or neglect was noted at the time.
EPS received a complaint from someone out of country about a suicidal woman. The woman was determined to reside at another location and the information was passed along to the RCMP for follow-up.
On Christmas day, police received a report of uttering threats. An individual had called a help/crisis line and made threats towards their support worker. The matter is still under investigation.
Police also attended to a Westview area residence to mediate a dispute over how to properly restrain a child in a motor vehicle before operating it. Police determined the booster seat that was being used was adequate. Both parties were updated as to the requirements under the traffic rules.
