Estevan police tended to 50 occurrences during the weekend

Separate traffic stops led to police arresting two impaired drivers.

ESTEVAN - Members of the Estevan Police Service were called to 50 occurrences from July 27-29, including tickets for various offences under the Traffic Safety Act and the Alcohol & Gaming Regulations Act. Four Criminal Code investigations occurred.

A vehicle stop on July 28 resulted in a male being charged with impaired driving. His driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Another vehicle stop resulted in a male being given a three-day driver’s licence suspension after he failed a roadside drug-screening test for THC. The vehicle was also impounded for three days.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle near a residence in west Estevan. Members attended but the vehicle was gone prior to members arriving. The matter is under investigation.

A report came in of individuals drinking alcohol in the parking lot of a local business. Members located the vehicle a short time later. The occupants were charged with having open alcohol in a vehicle.

Police received a report of a female passed out near a local business. Members located her and she was transported to the police station to be lodged until sober.

A report came in July 28 of a gas drive-off at a local service station. A licence plate number was obtained for the offending vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a semi-tractor unit pulling a stock trailer. One of the rear doors on the trailer was open. The tractor trailer unit was located and the driver was updated of the situation.

A report came in of two suspicious males near a business in the city. Members located them and they were spoken to.

The EPS was notified by a female that her picture is being used on a website without her consent. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of a female playing loud music. Members were able to speak with her and she was warned of the noise bylaw.
