ESTEVAN — Estevan police members responded to 85 occurrences over the weekend of May 17-20, including calls for service related to uttering threats, thefts from local businesses, assault, possession of prohibited weapon, impaired driving and mental health complaints.
Estevan Police Service assisted the Estevan RCMP in locating and arresting a 31-year-old man for possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of a weapon while prohibited from doing so. He is also facing additional charges with the RCMP. He was lodged in cells and was to be brought before a judge on Tuesday. No further information was immediately available.
Members also attended to a report of a man uttering threats to staff at a local licensed premise. The individual was located and charged under the Criminal Code. He will appear in court at a later date to speak to the charge.
Officers attended to a business after a report of a man shoplifting. The 51-year-old man was located a short time later and arrested, he will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
