CARLYLE - Taylor Japp, the Oxbow man who is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Briana Hayes of Oxbow earlier this year, made a video appearance in provincial court in Carlyle on June 26.

He was remanded into custody and will be back in court on July 3.

Meanwhile, Tyler Shaw of Gainsborough, who is charged with accessory after the fact to murder in Hayes' death, will make his next appearance in provincial court on July 4.

Both men have been in custody since they were arrested and charged.

On April 24, the Carlyle RCMP received a report of a potential homicide. The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit took control of the investigation and began working to confirm this information. As a result of the continued investigation, Hayes' body was found in a rural location in the RM of Moose Mountain on April 25.

Shaw was arrested and charged the same day, while the second-degree murder charge against Japp was announced on April 26.
