ESTEVAN - A second candidate has submitted nomination papers for city councillor in Estevan's upcoming civic election.

First-time candidate Robin Wog filed the necessary documents Wednesday. He joins two-term incumbent Coun. Shelly Veroba as candidates for the Nov. 13 vote.

Also filing on Wednesday was Coun. Tony Sernick for mayor. He is the first person to officially file a nomination form to replace Roy Ludwig for that role. Ludwig, who has been Estevan's mayor since 2012, is not seeking re-election.

Sernick is wrapping up his first term as councillor.

Nobody has filed for the Estevan trustee positions with the South East Cornerstone Public School Division or the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division boards.

The deadline to file a nomination paper is Oct. 9.

The Mercury and SaskToday.ca will continue to have updates on the nominations.
