ASSINIBOIA - This past week had somewhat of a slow start with no school on Monday due to the stat holiday but later in the week things seem to pick up again!

Last week, the track team headed to Moose Jaw on May 15 for an invitational meet that led to some big achievements for the younger Rockets on the team.

For Grade 9 girls, Shreya Virani got second in javelin and Ava Coghill got second in the 100m race and second in shot put. For the Grade 9 boys, Eric Helland got second in hurdles, third in the long jump, and ran 100m in 13.4 seconds then Drayden Fafard placed first in the very long 3000m race.

Our Grade 11 student, Grayson Ciocia, got first in hurdles, first in triple jump, third in javelin, and ran the 100m in 11.77 seconds.

Dramas first curtain went up this morning for both the Assiniboia Seventh Ave School and the Assiniboia Elementary School. The drama group hopes that the younger grades enjoy the show and that the Grade 8s are inspired to join next year’s drama club when they are in Grade 9. The group had their first public show on Thursday evening.

Admission is by donation which will be used towards future drama productions at ACHS.

Performances will also take place Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The doors open at 6:30 p.m.
