Accused in Estevan drug bust released on $10,000 bail

The latest on a recent drug bust in Estevan.

REGINA - The man who was charged in connection with a drug bust in Estevan earlier this month has been released on $10,000 bail.

Connor Rod was released Friday in Regina Provincial Court, with conditions, after posting the bond. He was in court in Carlyle earlier in the week and then the appearance in Regina on Friday.

According to an Estevan Police Service news release issued on Dec. 5, Rod has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime exceeding $5,000.

Rod was arrested on Dec. 2 after the Estevan Police Service’s Drug Intelligence and Criminal Investigation Units conducted a drug trafficking investigation, which resulted in a search warrant being authorized under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Officers seized drugs with an estimated street value of $45,000, along with approximately $9,000 in Canadian currency.

The charges have not been proven in court.
