CP Holiday Train

What a great way to kick off the weekend—the CP Holiday Train is scheduled to roll into town at noon on the north side of the tracks at 1001 Front Street.

Every year, the Holiday Train winds its way across the country, raising money and collecting non-perishable food items for local food banks. And that’s all you need to check out the event—a donation to the cause.

Conexus Credit Union is bringing the hot chocolate, and Borderland Co-op is donating hot dogs, plus the Moosomin Shriners will be on-hand to help with collecting the food donations. There will also be monetary donations collected for the Moosomin food share.

This year, Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish will be featured performers, revving up the crowd with holiday cheer. The train itself is decorated in thousands of Christmas lights.

Since 1999, the Holiday Train has raised over $24.3 million and collected more than 5.3 million pounds of food for communities in Canada and the United States.

Then it’s time to hit the Moosomin Community Theatre as the Chamber is hosting a free matinee at 2 pm. Not only do kids get a free ticket to the show, but they can also claim a small popcorn at no charge as well!
