WEYBURN – Nickle Lake Regional Park will be a bustling hive of activity on Saturday, Aug. 5, as the park is celebrated for Nickle Lake Day.
The day will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m., and a show-and-shine with the Sooline Cruisers will get underway at 10.
The Nickle Lake Market will also open at 10 a.m. and is running to 3 p.m., and kids activities will run from 10 to 2, featuring bouncy houses, face painting, along with crafts at the Beaver Den.
The Grub Shack and General Store will be open onsite throughout the day.
The beer gardens open at noon and will be open until 11 p.m., with live music to run from 2 to 10 p.m.
Doug Schaefer and friends will take the stage beginning at 2 p.m., followed by Dale Degenstein and Colleen Butz at 3:30, then at 5 p.m., Two Stepps will perform. Capping off the night will be the Steep Hill Ramblers at 7 p.m.
A slo-pitch tournament will be hosted at the park, and those interested in entering can contact Dan at 306-861-9036.
Glow golf will be featured in the evening at the mini-golf course, and is available from 9 to 11:30 p.m.
Safe rides will be available, provided by Barber Motors, and the drivers are sponsored by Another Round Bar and Grill.
The following weekend, Nickle Lake Regional Park will host their annual Halloween in the Park on Saturday, Aug. 12.
There will be a costume contest, treat bags, and a site decorating contest.
