People were once again very generous in supporting the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation’s Radiothon for Life fundraiser.

The benefit, held Wednesday, generated $159,077 for healthcare in the southeast region. It started at 6 a.m. and continued until 6 p.m., with donations coming in throughout the day.

A number of fundraisers happened in the community in the weeks leading up to the radiothon.

Money raised during the fundraiser will go to a new outpatient centre at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

The fundraiser aired on Golden West Radio’s three stations in Estevan – CJ 1150, Sun 102.3 and Rock 106.

Next week’s edition of the Mercury will have more on this story.
