REGINA — The Regina Fire & Protective Services responded to a fully involved house fire on Monday, which resulted in the report of one deceased individual.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 20, fire department members answered a call on the 1600 block of Montreal Street.

“Upon arrival, crews found the basement fully involved with fire,” said Fire Chief Layne Jackson. “Firefighters attacked the blaze, controlled the fire, and ensured nearby houses were not affected.”

Jackson said that when members made entry into the home to conduct a search, one deceased individual was discovered.

RPS investigators attended the scene, and will be working in conjunction with both the Regina Police Service and Saskatchewan Coroners Services to determine what happened.
