REGINA — Regina police have charged one man in connection to a stolen property investigation, which has led to the recovery of approximately $25,000 in stolen property.

The Online Stolen Property Unit began investigating an online marketplace account in December, after identifying the items listed by the account holder “appeared to be brand-new and were almost all the exclusive merchandise of one retail chain.”

Investigation led to the identification of a potential suspect and vehicle involved in a theft in July. A further search warrant for a related Regina apartment was implemented on Jan. 21, where police recovered known stolen property and arrested one individual.

Police said the items recovered were stolen during a Dec. 7 break-and-enter reported at a local business compound, and have now been returned to the victim business.

The 5926-year-old man from Grenfell has now been charged with break, enter and commit theft, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of failure to comply with the conditions of a release order.

The accused was previously investigated and charged by Regina police for possession of stolen property in July of 2021.

He made his first appearance on the new charges in provincial court on Monday.
