Savvy visitors know that Weyburn is one of the friendliest places in Saskatchewan. According to a Travel Awaits reporter, Weyburn is considered among the top 19 of the friendliest small towns in the country.
“Truly, it shouldn’t come as any surprise to anyone who is from Weyburn and area. The people and the businesses that make up the community are second to none,” said Larry Heggs, executive director of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.
“I have been through River Park a few times this year, and have stopped and visited with people with out-of-province plates. There have been some great conversations with those people.”
The warm hospitality is rounded out by a long list of things to do, from visiting Heritage Village to a number of museums and galleries, plus evident local pride that Weyburn is consistently listed as the best place to live in the Prairie provinces.
“We have great things to offer. We have the walking trails, the Museum that is second to none, a beautiful downtown core, and a beautiful city,” said Heggs.
“Weyburn consistently gets ranked as one of the best places to live in the prairies, and in Canada for that matter. All the amenities that we have to offer, like the new Legacy Park Elementary School, the new Credit Union Sparks Centre, and building a new hospital are other pieces of the puzzle that we already have.”
