Regina police release name of homicide victim; investigation continues

REGINA: The Regina police has released the name of the victim of a homicide that occurred in June.

The Regina Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with information regarding the murder of a man, which was the subject of a previous news release.

On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Reynolds Street for the report of an injured man. EMS arrived and transported the man to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, determined this death to be a homicide, and police began an investigation into the second homicide in Regina in 2024.

The deceased was identified and next of kin were notified. The deceased person in this incident is 19-year-old Jason Martin, of Regina.

This incident remains under investigation.
