REGINA - As many kids leave school and people commute home from work, some major roadways are experiencing reduced visibility from the latest snowstorm to hit Regina.
The system, which brought snowfall across the prairies, started bringing snow to the city Wednesday afternoon.
Environment Canada has placed a snowfall warning on the city, with heavy snowfall continuing throughout the evening. Models from Environment Canada suggest Regina could see between 10 to 20 centimetres of snow.
The storm is bringing winds that are creating blowing snow on high-speed roads, creating reduced visibility.
All the highways around Regina are currently partly covered, according to Highway Hotline. Other highways west of the city which got the snow first, like parts of the Trans-Canada Highway, have been placed under travel not recommended.
The storm is expected to leave Regina on Thursday morning. In response to the storm, snow routes in the city are in effect until Friday, Dec. 20 at 6 a.m.
