REGINA — On the first day of classes for the Fall 2024 term, a record 17,409 students are attending the University of Regina.
In a release issued this week, the university said this represents an increase of 524 students, or 3.1 per cent, over the first day of classes in the Fall 2023 term.
Attending the U of R this fall are 2,332 Indigenous students and 4,793 international students.
A few highlights of the fall term and upcoming 50th anniversary celebrations include:

- Lloyd Barber 50th Anniversary Faculty Recital – Sept. 7
- Faculty of Education 50th Anniversary Lecture Series: The Development of Inclusive Practice in Beginning Teachers – Oct. 3
- Faculty of Engineering 50th Anniversary Gala – Oct. 5
- College Avenue Campus Ghost Tours – beginning Oct. 6
- 50 years of Science at the University of Regina: Departmental Seminars – Oct. 10 and 11
- 50th Anniversary Alumni Week – beginning Oct. 19
- A Taste of Research: 500th Anniversary Edition – Nov. 6

All enrolment numbers are preliminary. The U of R’s official enrolment numbers will be available in October.
