Victoria School hosts barbecue to welcome new school year

This year, four new teachers joined the school’s staff.

KAMSACK — Victoria School in Kamsack marked the start of the new school year with a community barbecue, offering students and their parents or guardians a chance to meet the teaching staff.

The event, held on Sept. 11, brought out the grill to the school grounds, where families enjoyed burgers, drinks, and conversation with teachers — both new and old.

Principal Kendra Simon spoke with the Kamsack Times saying,

"It's good to see all of our families out and enjoying a burger and a drink and meeting our staff," Simon said. "We have some new teachers, so I'm glad that they're getting the time to meet our families and get to know one another."

This year, four new teachers joined the school’s staff.

In addition to the barbecue, a photo booth was set up, continuing a school tradition. "We take pictures of our families and we put them in our front entrance," Simon explained
