Jack Owen passed away July 11, 2016 after a brave four and a half year battle with cancer at the age of 61. Jack had a passion for the outdoors, hiking and gardening. Anyone who ever went to Jack and Penny's to visit was in awe of the massive array of color. Family and friends were always the most important part of Jack's life. Jack also had an unconditional love for animals. Jack had numerous dogs over the years and loved them all like they were his own children. Jack was never far from any of these beloved dogs, taking them everywhere he went. During Jack's battle he had many visits from lifelong childhood friends from Yorkton. We know Jack cherished all of these visits from friends travelling to Edmonton to see him. Jack also had a great family of friends in Edmonton that visited and helped both Jack and Penny during this trying time. Jack leaves behind to celebrate and cherish his memory, his wife and soul mate Penny. Jack is also survived by his mother Marguerite Owen and the late Elmer Owen; two brothers, Don (Kara) Owen and David Owen; his sister Lori (Don) Soanes; two nieces, Jana (Stu) Linton and Kara (Trent) Leffler; his nephew Tanner (Carolyn) Soanes; great-nephews Cooper Linton and Jake Leffler and great-niece Kinsley Linton; his sister-in-law Patsy Grawberg and her children Josh and Salina. A Celebration of Life will be held for Jack Owen on September 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Edmonton, AB. Memorials honoring Jack's life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
