Francis Pelletier passed away silently and bravely at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, Yorkton, SK., on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the age of 84 years. Francis "Chiboy" Pelletier was born on October 17, 1929, the son of Nazaire and Mary Madeline (nee St. Pierre) Pelletier at Crooked Lake, SK. At a young age, Francis began working for various farmers around the Crescent Lake area. Francis met the love of his life, Evelyn "Leena" Pelletier. They were united in marriage on September 16, 1954. They settled in Crescent Lake and started their family. Francis worked at numerous jobs and worked hard all his life to provide for his family. In 1974, Francis moved his family to Yorkton where he lived out the rest of his life. After the loss of his precious wife at the young age of 51, Francis dedicated his life to his girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Francis enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and watching the Montreal Canadians - his favorite hockey team. But most of all Francis truly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball "Chiboy's Gang", he did this with great pride and joy. Francis cherished his special times spent at Crescent Lake with all his friends and family. Francis was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn "Leena" Pelletier; his son, Larry Dean Pelletier; his parents, Nazaire and Mary Madeline Pelletier; his grandchildren, Landon Larry Dean Pelletier, Christian Francis Gerald Ward, Gabriella Courtney Ward and Darren Goodwill; his brothers, Frank Pelletier, Joe Pelletier, Alexander Pelletier, Marcel Pelletier, William Pelletier, Ernest Peltier; his sisters, Edna Krawchuk, Adele Beston, Irene Forshchen, Evelyn Bellegarde. He leaves to cherish many fond memories, his daughters, Shirley (Clayton) Ward; Jean (Richard) Roussin, Darlene (Dennis) Langan, Shelley Pelletier, Yvonne (Landry Langan) Pelletier, Donna Pelletier, Paul Anderson and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren all from Yorkton, SK; his brothers, Frederick (Priscilla) Pelletier of Lestock, SK, Walter (Jean) Pelletier of Melville, SK, Sylvester Peltier of Duseith, ND, USA and Mabel St. Pierre along with numerous nephews, nieces and friends. The family would like to acknowledge Francis' grandson, Jeremy Langan for the special care he gave to his Grandpa in the last few years of his life. Friends and family members shared many good memories of Francis' life during the Wake which commenced at the Yorkton Friendship Centre, Yorkton, SK. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. The Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, November 1, 2013 from St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, Yorkton, SK. with Father Francis Hengen officiating. The pianist, Pam Yaremko, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 23", "Peace is Flowing Like a River", "Come to Me", "Song of the Angels" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand". The Cross Bearer was Nicholas Cantello-Ward and the scriptures were read by Michelle Prince and Candice Melnechenko. The Interment Service followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Dennis Ward, Michael Roussin, Jeff Langan, Eric Langan, Brandon Pelletier, Derek Langan, Gale Pelletier, Christopher Ward, Francis Langan, Jamie Ward, Darren Langan, Jeremy Langan and Austin Pelletier serving as the casket bearers. The Honourary Pallbearers were Kerri Roussin, Michelle Prince, Cynthia Swain, Deanna Swain, Christine Pelletier, Charmain Pelletier, Tyneaka Pelletier, Bailey Pelletier, Trisha, Serrita, Sienna, Denzel, Joseph, Saphire, Candyce, Patricia, Orlean, Jennifer, Hilda, Winter Sage, and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson, Friends so wishing may forward their condolences to the family by visiting www.christiesfuneralhome.com.
